RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER WEDI GROUPS

The NPIOI Steering Committee will work closely with other WEDI and WEDI SNIP groups currently working on the NPI. The WEDI Education Committee, WEDI NPI PAG Co-chairs, WEDI SNIP NPI Subworkgroup and WEDI Regional Affiliates Workgroup would serve as resources to the Center, participate in the Management Committee, and provide advisory input as necessary and appropriate.

  • WEDI Education Committee
  • The NPIOI Steering Committee will develop education and outreach recommendations that will be presented to the WEDI Education Committee for incorporation into current WEDI education and outreach events or implementation as separate events, as appropriate. The Management Committee will also provide advice on NPI topics that the WEDI Education Committee might be considering.

  • WEDI SNIP Steering Committee
  • The NPIOI Steering Committee will work closely with the SNIP Steering Committee to ensure cross-communication as well as the identification of appropriate use of resources to implement the goals and objectives of each of the two groups in the most effective and efficient manner

  • WEDI NPI PAG
  • The NPIOI Steering Committee will not define or establish policy recommendation regarding the implementation of the NPI, but will rely upon, and operate in conformance with recommendations from the WEDI NPI Policy Advisory Group approved by the WEDI Board. All policy-related issues and recommendations resulting from the Center and/or the Steering Committee activities would be referred to the NPI PAG Co-chairs for review, and ultimately to the WEDI Board for review and action, as appropriate.

  • WEDI SNIP NPI Subworkgroup
  • The Steering Committee will work with the WEDI SNIP NPI Subworkgroup to 1) identify key messages for dissemination; 2) utilize appropriate content from the NPI white papers produced by the Subworkgroup to support those key messages; and 3) identify new possible topics and areas where there might be a need to develop key messages and content information.

  • WEDI Regional Affiliates Workgroup
  • The Steering Committee will work with the WEDI Regional Affiliates Workgroup and its members to 1) identify mechanism to deliver key messages and reach out to key audiences at the regional and local level; 2) assist WRAs in delivering key messages, education and outreach programs, and other NPI-related events; and 3) receive input from regional affiliates on areas where there is a need for outreach and education efforts (geographic, type of audience, type of content, etc).
