WEDI SUMMARIZES CYBER THREAT JUNGLE: There are many cyber vandals and criminals wanting to strike health care organizations these days, a report from the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange states. While 2015 may have seen more afflicted patients than 2016, last year was tops in terms of the number of incidents – and that led to roughly $6.2 billion in damages against the health care industry. The weaknesses, the report argues, are more human than technological – that is, health care organizations have to worry more about getting users not to click on suspicious links in emails than on fancy technology.
