WEDI congratulates Lisa J. Pino, JD on her appointment as the Director of the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Given her background as the New York State Department of Health's Executive Deputy Commissioner, Senior Counselor at the Department of Homeland Security, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the Department of Agriculture, we believe she brings to this role a unique understanding of the many privacy and security challenges impacting the delivery of high quality and efficient patient care.
