Episode 178: Pitfalls But Promise. The State of Healthcare Cybersecurity with Scott Mattila, COO & Chief Security Officer, Intraprise Health

December 7, 2020

WEDI is a named advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), a frequent commenter on administrative simplification regulations, and a multi-stakeholder organization comprised of health plans, providers, vendors, standards development organizations, and government representatives. Our organization provides a wealth of experience in advising HHS and educating the industry on a wide range of health information technology (IT) regulatory requirements. While we understand and support the overall intent of keeping regulations current and relevant, we have concerns about the assessment and review process outlined in this NPRM.

WEDI has reviewed the Securing Updated and Necessary Statutory Evaluations Timely Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) (RIN 0991-AC24) published in the Federal Register on November 4, 2020. Our comments for consideration are included in the document linked below.
